PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk plans to close 8 of their branch offices. Later, the closed branch will be relocated to another place.
“That’s the plan. But we always look at the trend of customer transactions,” said Bank CIMB Niaga President Director Lani Darmawan to CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (13/1).
Lani reasoned that the closure and relocation of a number of branches was carried out due to changes in customer transaction behavior who began to enter digital services. He admitted that changes in transaction behavior generally occur in retail customers.
“Because right now shift ke digital channel. Especially retail customers no longer use branches,” he said.
The closure and relocation of several branch offices is considered to be the company’s action in responding to the times. This has made banks enter the digital world and reduce transactions directly at branch offices.
Before closing, his party will first review the branch office in question.
Lani also ensured that the employees of Bank CIMB Niaga branch offices that were closed would be transferred to other branches or non-branch offices.
“Moved to another branch or also non-branch,” he said.
This is done because the company is claimed to still need and will increase the number of employees who are in direct contact with customers.
“We keep adding frontliners dealing with customers, especially for prime customers,” he said.
However, Lani has not been able to reveal which branches will be closed and relocated in the near future.
