Jasper Cillessen returns to the Eredivisie. The 33-year-old goalkeeper will transfer from Valencia to NEC, the transfer is in the final phase. If he passes the medical examination, the goalkeeper will probably be presented in Nijmegen on Thursday.

Cillessen went through the youth academy of NEC and made his debut in professional football there. He came to Valencia in 2019 via Ajax and FC Barcelona. Cillessen played with the Orange squad at the 2014 World Cup, but missed the last European Championship due to a corona infection. Under Louis van Gaal, Cillessen kept his way back into the selection. In the last international match of Orange, in June against Wales (3-2), he was under the bar.
