Medvedev is the defending US Open champion, but he was 0-4 at Roland Garros until he reached the quarter-finals a year ago. Pegula arrived in Paris with a 2-3 career record on clay and a third-round appearance.

Rublev reaches the quarters when Sinner stops
Rublev reached the French Open quarter-finals for the second time in three years after fourth-round opponent Yannick Sener stopped playing with a left leg problem.
