Ahmad said that the volume of traffic density occurred on the East Ring Road to the Cikunir intersection along 3 km. Then, density also occurred around Pondok Gede.

He revealed that the congestion occurred due to the large volume of passing vehicles and the closure of the MBZ Elevated Toll Road.

“Current monitoring is from around Km 42 to the Cikunir intersection around Km 45. There is still a density from Jatiwaringin to Cikunir,” he said.

“The impact of the increase in the volume of vehicle flow and also the diversion of traffic flow, previously there was a closure for the MBZ flyover,” continued Ahmad.

One Way due to Increased Vehicle Flow from Jakarta

Head of Traffic Police Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi said there was an increase in the flow of vehicles from Jakarta tonight. In addition, the flow of traffic from West Java (Jabar) is monitored slopingly.

“Because of the consideration: The increase in traffic from the Metro and side flows from the West Java Regional Police to Jakarta is sloping and allows for that,” said Firman to reporters, Friday (29/4).

Firman explained that the one-way policy from Km 47 Japek Toll Road to Km 414 Kalikangkung Toll Road will last until 08.00 WIB tomorrow. He said normalization on toll roads would take about two hours.

Therefore, Firman asked residents who wanted to go to Jakarta using the toll road to cross around 10:00 WIB tomorrow morning.

“People who will go west (Jakarta) can use the toll road after 08.00 plus 2 hours (normalization), around 10.00 WIB,” he said.
