With a six-point advantage over his closest contender, the candidate of the PRI-PRD coalition for mayor of Monterrey, Francisco Cienfuegos, is at the forefront of electoral preferences in the Neolonese capital.
According to a poll carried out by the Demoscopia Digital polling house, Cienfuegos gathers 28.2 percent of the voting intentions against the standard-bearer of the Citizen Movement, Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas, who has 22.3 percent.
In third place is the candidate of the MORENA-PT-PVEM-Nueva Alianza coalition, the PAN senator Víctor Fuentes, with 14.8 percent of the preferences, while the PAN candidate, Yolanda Cantú, remains relegated in a fourth place with 10.3 percent.
The opinion study, which has been duly registered with the electoral authority, was released this weekend and results from a representative sample of 1,200 citizens who were surveyed, according to Demoscopia Digital in its most recent delivery, “with scientific rigor and statistical, self-administered and applied with direct forms to the WhatsApp Messenger user through a professional multi-agent platform ”.
Francisco Cienfuegos has focused his electoral proposal on three axes: economic recovery, public safety and the happiness of citizens.
In his various meetings with citizens and businessmen, the PRI has proposed the creation of different projects such as the Monterrey Cluster and the Monterrey Council, which will serve as organizations that will accompany the municipality in its efforts to rescue the productive sector, after at least the 25 percent of the companies in that capital were forced to close their doors due to the pandemic.
