CIDE executive dismissed after giving support to Conacyt researchers

Alejandro Madrazo, who was regional director of the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) in the center of the country, announced his separation from the position, after publishing a video in which he shows his support for Conacyt researchers who have demanded improvements in their Labor conditions.

The also research professor assured that on October 5, the acting director of CIDE, José Romero, communicated the decision due to a “loss of confidence.”

“Before my perplexity he let me know that the direct cause was the diffusion of the following video in which my positive assessment of the Conacyt Chairs that work at our Headquarters, a program that he considers a problem for CIDE, ”stated Madrazo.

“I want to express to the entire academic community that the months – a little over a year – in which I had the responsibility of directing our Headquarters, have been the most satisfactory in my professional career, because of how much we were able to do even in the difficult circumstances that we go through. We accomplished a lot in a short time. The results are open to the scrutiny of anyone. I am very proud to belong to this community ”, published the researcher after announcing his dismissal.

Madrazo is a doctor of law and full-time professor-researcher at the CIDE Central Region in Aguascalientes, where he founded and headed the Sexual and Reproductive Rights Area and the Drug Policy Program until 2017.

In addition, he is a member of the National System of Investigators (level II) and has litigated a case before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation as the defense of the decriminalization of the interruption of pregnancy, in 2008; the defense of the Law for the protection of non-smokers in the Federal District, of 2009; and equal marriage, resolved 2010.
