FTV Prima, a Czech media group, is planning to launch three new programs in the near future. The announcement was made at the recent Digimedia conference, where it was revealed that these programs will be available on terrestrial broadcasting and have already been allocated data capacity.
Marek Singer, the CEO of FTV Prima, clarified that while the information was mentioned at Digimedia, the situation is slightly different. As a Prima group, they have a certain amount of broadcasting capacity blocked by the Czech Radiocommunications. Singer stated that the number of channels they will launch is up to them, but it ultimately depends on the economics. He mentioned the possibility of launching one or even two channels, but it may not happen in the coming weeks or months. The goal is to build a portfolio of channels that do not overlap and target different audiences.
According to previously released information, FTV Prima plans to operate one program in HD ready resolution and two in standard definition (SD).
Currently, FTV Prima operates and offers a total of 10 programs in the Czech market. These include the main flagship channel TV Prima, including a version with a one-hour time delay (Prima +1), as well as the male-oriented Prima COOL, the female-oriented Prima LOVE, the film-focused Prima MAX, the documentary channel Prima ZOOM, the crime series and movies channel Prima KRIMI, the archive channel Prima STAR, the reality show-focused Prima SHOW, and the news channel CNN Prima NEWS. Additionally, viewers in Slovakia can access the international channel Prima PLUS.
The exact launch date of the new programs from FTV Prima has not been announced yet, but the media group is actively working on expanding its portfolio to cater to a wider range of viewers.
