Churches approves the new children’s menus of the Community of Madrid and will give it funds

The Community of Madrid will receive government funds central for the new project for Dining Aids to guarantee the basic right to food for children in vulnerable situations affected by the closure of educational centers due to the health crisis.

According to the new project submitted this Monday, the Community of Madrid rectifies and is committed to launching, in collaboration with different social entities, “direct benefits of food distribution services” that include vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, vegetables, non-perishable products and others, as well as products for infant feeding of infants from zero to two years.

The Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda led by Pablo Iglesias asked the Community of Madrid to review these menus and present an alternative to be able to receive help to finance the meals.

Of the fund of 25 million euros destined to the Autonomous Communities to finance these meals, Madrid accounted for 2,455,750

According to the figures provided by the ministry, from the fund of 25 million euros that the social vice presidency allocated to the autonomous communities to finance these meals, Madrid accounted for 2,455,750 euros.

And of that amount, according to EFE sources from this vice presidency, the Community of Madrid presented an invoice of 1,049,861 euros dedicated to the payment of the daily meals they prepare Telepizza, Knee and Vienna Chaplains, while the rest was referred to municipalities in the region for the payment of food checks or ‘catering’ services.

The Community of Madrid will terminate on May 18 the agreement that it maintains with Telepizza, Rodilla and Viena Chaplains to give school menus to students from families receiving the minimum insertion income (RMI), once the catering companies ‘regular reopen and can distribute food to students who need it.
