Church service with 600 people in Staphorst, masks not necessary | Inland

This week, the government has adjusted the maximum group size for meetings, excluding faith meetings, to thirty. Scriba Albert Bouwman sees no reason to ‘reduce’ the service. According to him, there is good extraction in the building and everyone is really at a good distance. That reports De Stentor.

Not practical

Bouman also calls wearing a mouth mask during the service ‘not practical’. According to him, singing is an essential part of the service and with a mouth mask that quickly becomes mumbling.

The mayor of Staphorst, Gerrit Jan Kok, is confident that the service will run smoothly and sees no reason to intervene. The Restored Reformed Church was criticized earlier because it also planned to admit six hundred people in March. However, after a discussion with the municipality, it was then decided not to do this. The church then called on people to attend the service from home.
