Ajax acquisition promises: ‘Have not yet shown 50 percent of my potential’

Brian Brobbey
Akpom is very pleased with the collaboration with Brian Brobbey. The Dutch striker was good for both assists and also served Akpom with his goal. “The collaboration is good. He is very strong and does a lot of work for the team.”
When the Englishman came on as a substitute, he played as a kind of number 10 behind Brobbey. Is that his favorite position? “I think so, I was very successful there last season. But I am flexible, I can also play as number 9. I am a dynamic striker and I don’t want to stay in the box for the entire match.”
Akpom would like to be on the field with Brobbey, as number ten. “Why not?” he wonders out loud. “We both bring something different to the team. I can make him better as a player and he can make me better as a player. You saw his assist today. Not many players can hold a ball like that. We can definitely help each other.”
