A woman from Alabama, United States of America, feels saved thanks to the viral trend of TikTok. Not without reason, because of this trend, he finally found out he had stage 4 skin cancer.
Helen Bender (26), follows a viral beauty trend from China, namely the Gua Sha technique by rubbing the skin with flat stones. While trying the trend, he noticed a large lump in his left jaw.
Scans at the doctor revealed that the lump was the most aggressive type of cancer and had spread all over her body. Initially the doctor sentenced him to only survive for six weeks.
“I asked my doctor how long he thought I would do it, and he said someone had come to him at the same stage and they died in six weeks,” recalls Helen quoted from Daily Mail.
He had previously been diagnosed with melanoma five years ago. The first symptom of melanoma cancer experienced by Helen was a mole on her back that had been removed.
After that he was declared successful in remission because his cancer had not recurred for five years.
But in April 2022, Helen again realized that there was something wrong with her body with this lump. Helen started immunotherapy at the Mitchell Cancer Institute in Mobile, Alabama, in early June 2022.
At first Helen had difficulty accepting the fact that she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer again. The doctor said there were 20 lumps all over her body which indicated her condition was getting serious.
