Chronology of TNI and KKB Weapon Contacts in which 3 Soldiers were injured

KOMPAS.com – There was gunfire between the TNI and members of armed criminal groups ( KKB) leadership of Lamek Taplo in Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Tuesday (20/10/2020).

Head of Information at the Joint Defense Region Command III (Kapen Kogabwilhan III) Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa said the attack took place at 09.30 after TNI personnel crossed the bridge and were in an upward position.

Meanwhile, Danrem 172 PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan said the attack occurred while a TNI entourage was carrying logistics.

“It is true that the vehicle carrying logistics was shot down by KKB while heading to Oksibil from Serambakom to retrieve logistics,” Pangemanan said in Jayapura as reported by Antara, Tuesday.

The military vehicle carrying the logistics was shot from a distance of about 200 meters.

The incident caused three TNI soldiers to be injured, namely Praka Hendrik who suffered a gunshot wound to the sole of his right foot, Prada Heldan was hit by a ricochet in the leg, and Prada Gusman was hit by a bullet in the chest.

The three victims are currently in the Oksibil Regional Hospital and their conditions are stable.

The plan is for the three victims to be evacuated to Jayapura to undergo treatment at Marthen Indey Hospital.
