BANTUL, KOMPAS.TV – The popular puppeteer Ki Seno Nugroho died on Tuesday (3/11/2020) night at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Sleman Hospital, Yogyakarta due to illness.
An atmosphere of grief enveloped the family of the late Ki Seno Nugroho at the funeral home of Gayam Hamlet, Argosari Village, Sedayu District, Bantul Yogyakarta Wednesday (4/11/2020) morning.
Many people, relatives and friends of Tolan came to express their condolences to the families of the deceased.
The late Ki Seno Nugroho died at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, Sleman due to illness.
Previously, the deceased complained of chest pain while cycling Tuesday (3/11/2020) evening.
Some of the people who came to the funeral home were crew members of the pengrawit group who felt lost at the departure of Ki Seno Nugoroho.
For the family and crew of pengrawit, the deceased is a figure who is responsible to the family, working hard to continue and preserve the art and culture of wayang kulit as a mandate from his parents Ki Suparman who is also a puppet artist.
Among shadow puppet lovers, the deceased was known as a popular, low profile, entertaining, and close to young artists, a dalang.
To his crew, the deceased once advised him to continue to popularize wayang kulit as a noble cultural heritage of the nation.
He is survived by his wife, three children and a biological mother.
