A mob destroys the Bojong Koneng Village Office building, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, Saturday (3/10). Destruction is a tail land dispute with Sentul City.
Quoted from detik.com, the mob began destroying the front area of the building to the village head’s office, Saturday (2/10) at around 11.00 WIB. The glass in the front of the building looks perforated with glass shards still scattered on the site. A number of flower pots in front of the building were also damaged by the masses.
Lawyers for Rocky Gerung and a resident of Bojong Koneng, Nafirdo Ricky, explained that the actions of the residents who damaged the Bojong Koneng Village Office began with the attempt to evict Sentul City to residents’ land.
“The arrival of the residents to the village office was triggered because from last Friday, Sentul’s side and the possibility of the village head taking measurements. However, residents have intercepted it,” Ricky said when contacted, Sunday (3/10).
“But then on Saturday around 10-11 am, the Sentul bulldozer moved again. That’s Mr. Sudianto’s land whose name was flattened by Sentul City and his troops. We don’t know where the troops came from, only there are more people than residents,” he explained.
The pressed residents then went to the Bojong Koneng Village office to ask for help. However, Nafirdo said that when he was visited by the village head, he ran away, sparking the emotions of the people who came.
“Residents asked for help from the kelurahan, but the kelurahan officials ran away from the village. That’s what sparked the emotions of the residents, so there was a riot in the Bojong Koneng ward because the lurah ran away, didn’t stop the beko-beko or bulldozers,” he said.
Linmas at the Bojong Koneng Village Office, Syahrir said that dozens of people destroyed the village building. When the mob attacked the village office, there were no village officials on duty.
“I don’t know (the number of people), my people immediately left. It’s terrible,” said Syahrir.
According to him, at the time of the incident, posyandu women were only filled in and attended by the wife of the local lurah.
The Head of Bojong Koneng Village, Rusdi Anwar, confirmed the incident. According to him, the masses previously held a demonstration in front of the village office.
“Yesterday afternoon a number of residents demonstrated in front of the village office and broke into the room and destroyed the facilities,” said Rusdi when contacted.
Rusdi said he would report this incident to the Bogor Police. However, he admitted that he would first coordinate with the Babakan Madang sub-district head.
“I will report the mass to the Bogor Police for the destruction of the Bojong Koneng Village Government office, but first I have to coordinate with the Babakan Madang sub-district head. Because this is clearly stepping on the state symbol,” said Rusdi.
