MMA fighter (Mix Martial Arts) from the District North Tapanuli, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Elipitua Siregar is facing a legal case. The man nicknamed “The Magician” was charged with killing Marganti Siregar, who was none other than his own older brother.
Head of Legal Information (Penkum) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office Yos A Tarigan said Elipitua Siregar was undergoing trial at the Tarutung District Court for the case that ensnared him.
“It’s true, the defendant is being tried in Tarutung. Currently the trial is taking place with the agenda of examining witnesses,” Yos told CNNIndonesia.comTuesday (24/1).
In the indictment of the public prosecutor (JPU), the incident occurred on October 15, 2022 at 09.00 WIB in Sigubo, Silali Toruan Village, Muara District, North Tapanuli Regency. At that time the victim came to her parents’ house.
At that house, the victim saw Elipitua sitting and drinking coffee in front of their parents’ house. The victim Marganti Siregar immediately greeted the defendant, who was none other than his younger sibling.
“Horas Dek, when are you coming?” asked the victim and Elipitua immediately answered that he had been in that house for four days.
Then, Elipitua asked about their parents. Why did you kick that mother out, bro, she was already sick,” said Elipitua to her brother.
Hearing that question, the victim immediately became emotional. Then in anger the victim approached the defendant and pushed him from his seat causing the defendant to fall to the ground.
The defendant Elipitua panicked and spontaneously saw an ax handle made of wood not far from the location. He also took the wood and hit it on the back of the victim’s head so that the victim fell to his stomach.
It didn’t stop there, Elipitua, with no control over her emotions, punched the victim again who was already helpless, three times in the back and to the head once until the victim Marganti Siregar’s body bled.
After carrying out these actions, the defendant ran away from the scene while crying and met their mother, the witness Riana Sinaga, who was in the house at that time.
The defendant Elipitua Siregar was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code, a subsidiary of Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
It is known that Elipitua is an MMA fighter who has made the nation proud. The man who was born on April 26, 1996 has the nickname “The Magician”. Elipitua is a protege of the Jakarta Ragunan Wrestling Team and started to switch to MMA in early 2018.
On 20 May 2022, Elipitua defeated Filipino veteran Robin Catalan for a ONE Championship in a strawweight MMA battle of ONE:157 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
