Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Batik Air plane with flight number ID – 6803 Jambi – Jakarta on Saturday (6/3/2021) failed to land at Soekarno Hatta Airport. The chronology begins with one of the indicators lit in the cockpit that indicates a possible technical problem.
Batik Air Strategic Communication, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, explained that Batik Air flight ID – 6803 was well prepared. Departure schedule at 13.00 WIB and is expected to arrive at Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 14.10 WIB.
“Before being operated, the Airbus 320-200 PK-LUT registration had undergone an earlier inspection, namely before being flown (pre-flight check) and was declared airworthy and operational,” explained Danang in an official statement, Saturday (6/3/2021).
The flight, which was carrying 114 adults and two children, and one toddler, encountered problems after takeoff. The pilot decided to return to the airport because there was an indicator on the cockpit that indicated there was a technical problem.
At that time the Batik Air plane had landed again at Sultan Thaha Airport, Jambi and the aircraft stopped at a position on the runway. That is why it takes a process of moving the aircraft position to the aircraft parking pad.
“In an effort to ensure flight safety and security, the decision to return to the original airport is correct. This is to immediately carry out further checks and checks on Airbus 320-200 PK-LUT registration aircraft,” explained Danang.
“The entire crew and passengers were taken and directed to the waiting room of the airport terminal building, to get further information and to handle departure delays,” he added.
Danang said Batik Air apologized for the inconvenience that caused the ID-6803 guests’ flights to be disrupted. Currently, the company also provides compensation for postponement of departure.
“In addition, Batik Air facilitates guests according to request, which will make changes to the departure schedule (reschedule) or submit a ticket refund process (refund),” explained Danang.
