COACH Indonesian National team, Shin Tae-yong, tells the chronology of 4 players Indonesian National team banned from playing against Thailand in the second leg of the final AFF Cup 2020 by the Singapore government for violating the bubble rules. He said the incident of Indonesian national team players breaking the bubble had actually happened a very long time ago, namely on December 15, 2021.
For your information, there are four Indonesian national team players who are considered to have violated the bubble rules in the 2020 AFF Cup. They are Elkan Baggott, Rizky Dwi, Rizky Ridho, and Victor Igbonefo.
Shin Tae-yong explained that the players did go out for a while to get some fresh air. However, they violated the bubble rules due to a miscommunication problem, not intentional.
“This morning, it was reported that the four players could not be played. The problem with this incident occurred on the 15th (December 2021),” said Shin Tae-yong at a post-match press conference, Saturday (1/1/2022).
“Because (our players) were too cramped in the room all the time, but they only came out for a while and were given a warning penalty and we are okay,” continued the South Korean tactician.
