The United Arab Emirates has become a vaccination resort for the rich and powerful. These tourists arrive by private plane and live in luxurious hotels, where one night costs a few thousand euros. It has been revealed that the sisters of King Felipe of Spain, Christina and Helena, have already become pregnant in Abu Dhabi in February. Chinese Sinopharm vaccines are available, AstraZeneca, Pfizer / BioNTech, and the Emirates is preparing to license Sinopharm vaccine, already officially offering vaccine tourism.
Air France will require digital certificates attesting to vaccination against Covid-19 or a negative test result during a month-long trial. Passengers traveling to the French Caribbean territories of Martinique and Guadeloupe will be required to present a telephone app with this confirmation. The aim is to see how it works by reducing checks, which significantly slows down departure and arrival procedures.
The mayor of the French city of Nice, Christian Estrozi, has called on the state health authorities to give him permission to import the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine. Estrosi explains that Nice is an international hub with many connections, and last year, when the first wave of a pandemic hit the world, it was able to independently provide face masks.
Kirill Dmitryev, head of Russia’s direct investment fund, said his organization had secured contracts with companies from Italy, Spain, France and Germany for the production of Sputnik V. This will allow the vaccine to be supplied to the European market “once it has been approved by the European Medicines Agency”. Production at the Italian and Swiss pharmaceutical company Adienne’s plants in Lombardy in northern Italy will begin in July.
China has approved a fourth emergency vaccine developed under the direction of Gao Fu, director of the Centers for Disease Control, at Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical Co. Ltd. and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first and second phases of the clinical trials were completed in October, and the final phase trials are currently underway in Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Indonesia. The vaccine was approved for use in Uzbekistan on 1 March. In China, the vaccination campaign is slow, with 64.98 million doses used in a country of 1.4 billion people.
