How do chronically ill privately insured persons get a vaccination invitation? The Berlin health administration has now provided an answer to this. An important part of the process is calling the vaccination hotline. Only their employees were obviously not informed.

The health administration has published more detailed information on how chronically ill privately insured people should come to a corona vaccination appointment. However, there are obviously still problems because there are gaps in knowledge within the organizational structure itself.
Privately insured persons between 18 and 70 years of age are affected, whose chronic diseases are listed in the vaccination ordinance, but who do not yet have a booking code for a vaccination appointment. As the health administration announced on Wednesday, they can contact the vaccination hotline 030-9028-2200 independently with a medical certificate confirming that they belong to the group of people entitled to vaccinate and provide their details there. On the basis of this data, the person authorized to vaccinate receives an invitation from the Senate Department for Health with a vaccination code. A vaccination appointment can then be booked in a vaccination center with this vaccination code.

So much for theory, but in practice it looks different: When the rbb called the hotline on Wednesday afternoon, this new procedure was apparently not yet sufficiently well known. When asked, a manager said that there were no work instructions yet. The health administration said that the relevant training was in progress.
In contrast to those with private insurance, those with statutory health insurance and the chronically ill do not have to worry about receiving the invitation letter with the vaccination code. You will receive both from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, as your personal data is already there.
