Chronic low back pain: BACK-4P, a research project to develop a new digital tool

A team gathered around Dr Christelle Nguyen and Prof. François Rannou from the musculoskeletal system and spinal pathologies rehabilitation and rehabilitation service at Cochin Hospital – AP-HP, Prof. Isabelle Boutron, Prof. Raphaël Porcher, Prof. Philippe Ravaud and Dr. Viet-Thi Tran from the Sorbonne Paris Cité – INSERM epidemiology and statistical research center, Dr. Céline Clavel and Prof. Jean-Claude Martin from the computer science laboratory for mechanics and engineering sciences – CNRS as well as scientists from the Arthritis Foundation – Arthritis R&D initiates the BACK-4P research project. BACK-4P aims to better understand people suffering from chronic low back pain and to offer them a dedicated mobile application. The first phase of this research project, promoted by the AP-HP, starts with the launch of a national campaign to recruit volunteer patients on ComPaRe, the community of patients for research of the AP-HP, in the aim to set up an e-cohort of 5000 people suffering from chronic low back pain.
