Christos Spirtzis sent a letter, which had been requested of him a few weeks ago, to the Ethics Committee of the party, which is expected to meet on Tuesday.
The reason for the meeting is the letter of 70 members of SYRIZA from all over the country, where they request its deletion, arguing that it undermines Stefanos Kasselakis and the party itself.

The former minister, in his letter, asks the Ethics Committee to deal with the president of SYRIZA himself! He recalls Kasselakis’ statements that NATO is a “sacred defense alliance”, the story with black funds, but also the statement that there is a plan to liquidate SYRIZA “into a nebulous “Center-Left” with a “savior” chosen by Diaploki”.
Also, Christos Spirtzis asks to know when the letter of 70 arrived at the Ethics Committee, since, as he notes, if it was filed after it was leaked to the media, it is invalid.
He also expresses his question as to how 70 members from all over Greece co-signed the letter, leaving suspicions of factional practices against him.
The former minister is asking for answers before Tuesday, September 3, when the Commission is scheduled to meet, as he says then “we are celebrating the establishment of a victorious progressive faction…”
“They put themselves outside the party”
“It is not a political point of view to call on the TV the President of the party to resign, against the will of the organs and members of SYRIZA” Stefanos Kasselakis had said at the recent KO meeting, photographing Christos Spirtzis.
“The Ethics Commission may be following its procedure, but it is obvious that officials who express themselves in this way are consciously choosing to put themselves outside the party. Let the rest of us go forward” he added.
If the Ethics Committee decides to delete or suspend a member, it must be approved by the Central Committee.
