A point raised during the municipal council of Ixelles Thursday evening reacted en masse to the opposition: the different modes of transport available to the bourgmestre and the first alderman.

The bourgmestre of Ixelles Christos Doulkeridis (Ecolo-Groen) and the aldermen of the municipality made the municipal council adopt a modification of the regulations on Thursday allowing them to renounce a company car. They took the opportunity of the end, within a year, of two company car leasing contracts to adopt a soft mobility formula in the test phase.
The mayor’s car, for example, drives much less often than under the outgoing legislature.
College members can now use a Cambio subscription, for professional use, and an electric bicycle or scooter for professional and private use. The whole is completed by the allocation of a STIB subscription.
To avoid any discussion on the transparency of remuneration, these mixed use facilities for electric machines are considered as benefits in kind and will therefore be taxed.
But the opposition parties (MR, Objectif XL, Défi, PTB) criticized the mayor Christos Doulkeridis (Ecolo) and the first alderman Bea Diallo (PS) for spending public money in their various vehicles. There have been many critics.
