Christopher Ciccone, Madonna’s brother, dies. He was 63 years old

Mourning in Madonna’s house: Christopher Ciccone, the pop star’s younger brother, died of cancer at 63. TMZ has learned.
It is the second loved one that Madonna has lost in a couple of months: in September her stepmother Joan Ciccone also died from an aggressive form of cancer. Another brother, Anthony Ciccone, died last year.
Madonna and Christopher had been very close at the beginning of her career. Christopher had been one of her dancers and then the artistic director of the Blonde Ambition tour. The relationship then turned sour and in 2008 the brother had zeroed in on his sister in a book, Life With My Sister, which became a bestseller in the New York Times charts. Only recently had the two returned to being brother and sister, as Christopher had confided in an interview with Vogue, but the damage had been done.
In the memoir, which arrived on the eve of the pop star’s fiftieth birthday, Ciccone called Madonna “mean” and a “liar”, accusing her of having shamelessly lied about her beginnings by spreading the story that she landed in New York in search of fortune “with a pair of ballet shoes and 35 dollars”, when instead she had a solid middle-class family, money and contacts behind her. The breaking point would be in 1991 when the Material Girl took video cameras to her mother’s grave for her documentary Truth or Dare. (HANDLE).
