Christophe Galtier Coach Update: Popular Amidst Legal Troubles

We probably have the only good news of the day from Christophe Galtier.

This Friday, the former PSG and LOSC coach is on trial, at the Nice criminal court, for acts of moral harassment and discrimination of which he was allegedly the author during his mandate on the bench of OGC Nice (2021 -2022). But the French coach is still popular, at least among the Gulf countries, he who currently coaches the Al-Duhail team, fifth in the Qatar Stars League and above all a club owned by Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, also owner of PSG. The Parisian tells us this Thursday that the technician could have ended up completely elsewhere since Neymar, whom he trained at PSG, would have slipped his name to his management to take the reins of Al-Hilal (where Ney signed this summer for almost 90 million).

The two men maintained a good relationship even though they only spent one season together. Contacts between the Saudi club and Galtier did take place, but it was ultimately good old Jorge Jesus who made his return to the Al-Hilal bench, after a first stint in 2018-2019. Galtier signed for Qatar in October.

The French championship is therefore not the only fan of coach recycling.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will face each other in 2024
