A NEW ERA FOR THE SCHÖNBRUNN CASTLE CHRISTMAS MARKET BEGINS
From November 8, 2024, the new Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace invites you to a festive experience in an imperial atmosphere and is therefore one of the first Christmas markets in Vienna to open the 2024 season.
For the first time this year, the entire courtyard of the castle shines as a wintry Christmas world and, with its magnificent backdrop, offers a magical ambience that captivates young and old. The new, generously designed Christmas market, with over 90 market stalls and a completely new structure, combines the flair of a charming village in the impressive setting of Schönbrunn. This unique combination creates a contemplative Christmas atmosphere that invites the whole family to feel good and be amazed.
Traditional craftsmanship and new experiences combined
The focus is on traditional handicrafts and high-quality gastronomy, which place particular emphasis on regionality and quality. The Christmas market not only offers well-known things, but also many new attractions: an innovative ice skating rink and the curling rinks, which are based on a new system and operate without energy requirements, invite you to exercise outdoors.
For special occasions, the curling rinks can be rented exclusively for joint Christmas parties – whether for companies or private groups, this is a wonderful opportunity to end the year in a festive environment. Other highlights include a nostalgic carousel and Ferris wheel, which transform the market into a magical world full of memories for family and friends. There is a lot to experience and discover, especially for the little guests, in the cozy craft hut (“wooden circus”).
The mugs, lovingly designed by the sand artist Irina Titova, the “Queen of Sand”, are also available as children’s mugs and are guaranteed to make your eyes light up. The entire Christmas market is designed to be family-friendly, with a fair price-performance ratio that allows families to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere.
The special children’s menus at attractive prices round off the offering and offer parents and children affordable and high-quality food.
