The National Music Theater “Stefan Makedonski” will greet its fans with the upcoming Christmas holidays with a concert – the performance “Christmas Magic”. Only on December 23, 2014 – Tuesday at 7 p.m., favorite and familiar Christmas carols from around the world will be performed on the stage of the theater in new arrangements.
The festive concert will begin with the performance of the most famous part of Handel’s oratorio “Messiah” – “Hallelujah” performed by the choir and orchestra of the Musical Theater. The program will also feature the arias “Ave Maria” composed by Schubert, Mascani, Caccini and JS Bach.
We will hear favorite Christmas songs performed by the stars of the Musical Theater Olga Dinova, Dobrina Ikonomova, Valentina Korchakova, Edelina Kaneva, Katerina Tuparova, Marcho Apostolov, Alexander Mutafchiyski, Mario Nikolov, Penyo Pirozov and Hristo Sarafov, as well as the theater’s orchestra, choir and ballet .
The director of the performance is Mario Nikolov, the scenography and costumes are by Evgenia Raeva, the choreography is by Antoaneta Alexieva and Svetlin Ivelinov, the choirmaster is Ludmil Gorchev.
At the conductor’s desk will be the guest conductor Stanislav Ushev – director of the State Philharmonic – Shumen. Maestro Ushev graduated in “opera-symphonic conducting” at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, in the class of Prof. Maris Jansons. He was director of the Pleven Philharmonic and chief conductor of the Varna Opera and Philharmonic Society. Winner of awards of the Union of Bulgarian Composers in the category “Performance – Mastery – Conductors” and of the “Golden Muse” award 2003 of the Russian Cultural and Information Center. He was a guest conductor in Russia, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Japan, South Korea.
