As every year before Christmas, a gigantic Christmas tree was installed in the Rockefeller Center, one of the most visited places in Manhattan, which attracts tourists and New Yorkers alike every year. But what is usually a moment of joy – which marks the countdown to the days before Christmas – has turned into a most depressing event this year.
In question ? The chosen tree, far from the majestic spruces traditionally installed at Rockefeller Center. Twisted, half bald and losing many needles on the way to its final home, this big, sad tree did not fail to make Internet users react. “Like us, the tree has gone through some hellish hardships in 2020”, “Even he is tired of 2020”… The comparisons with the atrocious year that has just passed were legion on social networks.
