A famous New York Christmas tradition is the miniature train in the Botanical Gardens. The 30th anniversary edition includes 190 replicas of the city’s landmarks made from natural materials such as leaves, twigs, seeds and pine cone scales.
“The train shows are put together by a team that comes to us every year from Kentucky. About 18 people are here for about two weeks to put the show together.”
The miniature scenery shows famous landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building or the One World Trade Center. Since the exhibition began, a total of more than 4.5 million visitors have visited the railway exhibition.
