Christmas Concert in Prague’s O2 Arena Honors Victims with Message of Love and Hope

On Thursday evening, a Christmas concert took place in Prague’s O2 arena. A number of singers decided to emphasize the importance of love and spending time with loved ones after the sad events of the last few hours. Richard Krajčo, Pokáč, Kateřina Marie Tichá and many others performed at the concert and performed a fairytale show together. At the beginning, Libor Bouček dedicated the concert to the victims from among the students of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.

The wave of Czech cohesion spread in the largest hall of the Czech Republic thanks to a number of Czech artists who performed at the Christmas concert in the O2 arena. Moderator Libor Bouček dedicated the entire evening to the students of the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University who died in the afternoon’s horrific attack. Bouček started the concert with a minute of silence and a message from his wife, who convinced him that one should not give way to terrible acts, but confront them.

The entire hall was thus transformed into a pieta, and the show, accompanied by the Philharmonic and a children’s choir, resembled a magical temple. The artist was deeply affected by the tragic news. “I would like the world to move on to a better tomorrow,” shared her wish Dasha.

The Christmas show was unprecedented in the Czech Republic and the performers had been preparing for it for a long time. “I was really looking forward to it, it’s an exceptional event that hasn’t been here before. There will be the same beautiful people I know, each of the performers is great, so I’m looking forward to them all” singer Kateřina Marie Tichá confided in an interview for TN.cz before the concert.

Richard Krajčo, Pokáč, Dasha, Adam Plachetka or Ondřej Ruml appeared among the performers. “I was looking forward to it very much, because I hope that the concert will put me in the mood for Christmas. Advent was so short this year that I feel that it went by very quickly and I didn’t even have time to absorb it. I hope that the magical atmosphere will bring Christmas to life,” Krajčo explained.

Each of the performers sang a few songs at the concert, only Pokáč was not so sure of his performance. “I’m really looking forward to it because it’s going to be nice and Christmasy. I’ve been assigned one of my songs that I can do and then three other Christmas songs that I can’t, luckily one of them has about three words that I could hit and in for the others, I’m part of the choir, so I just turn off the microphone and everything’s fine,” joked Pokáč.

The singers agreed that the holidays are mainly a time of love, calm and peace for them, during which they try to spend as much time as possible with their loved ones. “For me, they mean time with my family,” explained Kateřina Marie Tichá.
