Saturday marks the first Christmas performance of 2022 by the Landri family’s American-style circus. The troupe will be present until January 2nd and has spectacular new numbers planned.
You certainly haven’t missed it if you take the ring road that runs along the Albasud area in Montauban. Since the end of November, a huge tent in the colors of the American flag has been set up behind the Super U. For 15 years the Landri family has been setting up its Christmas circus here. This year, given the success of the previous edition, the organizers have renewed the concept of the Grand American Show Vegas, which juggles between “cabaret and traditional circus”, image Thérèse Landri, co-organizer of the show together with her husband. For this edition, they also have a completely different show planned.
“We have revisited several numbers, we have put others and the artists are different. It is a big challenge, but we try to reinvent the show every time”
In total, from December 17 to January 2, about thirty artists from France and other countries will perform on the track. Fifteen numbers are planned, with a wide variety on the menu. Jugglers on the theme of Elvis Presley, aerial tricks, acrobatics with horses, cowboys and Indians, archery, dancers, trapeze artists or even clowns, “there will be something for everyone”, promises Therese.
Marvel characters, Santa Claus and spectacular equipment
Spectators will still be able to find Landri’s two young sons: Sahona for his overhead net act at 8 meters high and unattached, and Giovanni, one of the youngest rollaballists in Europe, for his rolla rolla number. “There will also be the wheel of death, very spectacular, without attachments and in height, and the globe of death,” he adds. Also, the Monster truck will be back on track, as well as a Transformers car that can stand up and transform into a robot. Spectators will also be able to take pictures in front of the machines and with the artists. And this year motorcycles will be part of the game with freestyle.

Finally, it’s not impossible for new heroes from the Marvel universe like Captain America or Spiderman to make an appearance during the show. “At the end of each performance, the children will also be able to meet Santa Claus on the track. He will distribute sweets, accompanied by Mini and Mickey Mouse”, the organizers specify. For now, Montauban is the first city on the tour. But the Circassians will then take the road to reach, among others, Agen, Albi, Castres or Bordeaux.
