We enter a festive atmosphere with the streets of the cities lit up and the houses decorated but to celebrate Christmas joyfully you need money. Reducing everything to a mere economic question seems cynical but unfortunately it is the truth, as much as you can save and reduce expenses to a minimum, if you want to fully enjoy the holidays you must have some savings to use for gifts, decorations, dinners with friends.
It would be wonderful, then, to be able to celebrate the arrival of the new year on a ski holiday but we don’t want to go that far. We know well that end-of-year financial aid such as the thirteenth – and the fourteenth for some pensioners – will in many cases be used to pay bills, rent, extra expenses or debts accumulated due to lack of liquidity. Good news is that it will also be there the 2024 Christmas Bonus to increase the income of some workers.
Who will receive the 2024 Christmas Bonus and how much it will amount to
The Christmas Bonus has a value of 100 euros and is dedicated to workers with subordinate contracts (fixed-term, permanent, part-time and full-time) who worked as an employee in 2024. The requirements include an income limit of 28 thousand euros. Income deriving from the main residence is excluded from the calculation, while income from continuous collaborations or from a flat-rate regime is included.

Another condition is to have dependent on a spouse and at least one child. We remind you that to be a dependent the family member must not exceed a personal income of 4 thousand euros if under 24 or 2,840.51 euros. Single or widowed parents can also obtain the Christmas Bonus. There is another requirement to know, the gross tax calculated on income must be higher than the deductions due. It means that those who have an income within 8,500 euros and therefore fall within the no tax area will not be able to apply for the Bonus.
A clarification is in order, then, regarding the unemployed. These can get the relief provided that they comply with the general requirements and have lost their job during 2024. The amount will be reduced for those who have worked only part of the year based on the months of work actually performed. For example, four months of work will correspond to 33 euros (100 : 12 x 4).
