“Christina Aguilera to Headline Fundraising Concerts for LGBTQIA+ Community during New York’s Pride Week”

New York, (EFE).- The singer Christina Aguilera will headline two fundraising concerts in New York as part of the Pride Week events, from June 19 to 25, which concludes with the expected parade through the Fifth Avenue.
The first presentation of the award-winning interpreter of “Genie in a Bottle” to benefit the LGBTQIA+ community will be on Stonewall Day, on June 23 at the Hudson Yards square in Manhattan, and two days later at the Brooklyn Army Terminal .

Launched in 2018, Stonewall Day is a national awareness day to mark the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion.
While NYC Pride, which organizes the popular Pride parade, reported that Aguilera will be the main star at its annual fundraising party on June 25, which this year will be at its new venue on the Brooklyn waterfront.
Aguilera, winner of seven Grammy Awards and who has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, said she was “excited” to headline the show on Pride Island, as they call the renewed promenade that week.
“I am always ready to celebrate the strength and resilience of all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies,” said the star, who this year was recognized precisely for her history of supporting this community, for which she was honored with the Advocate for Change Award at the GLAAD Media Awards.
In 2021 the pop star received the Music Icon Award at the People’s Choice Awards, followed by the Spirit of Hope Award at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
This year the Pride parade will be held under the slogan “Strength in Solidarity” at a time when there has been an increase in attacks against members of this community, expressed in physical violence and in legislation that has particularly impacted LGBTQIA+ youth. .
