Two paintings by Picasso will be auctioned by Christie’s auction house in New York in November.

One of the pictures, the oil painting “Squatting Woman in Turkish Costume (Jacqueline)”, was part of a private collection for more than 60 years and, according to the auction house, has never been auctioned. Its value is estimated at $ 20 to 30 million.
Pablo Picasso painted the portrait of his second wife, Jacqueline Roque, with whom he was married until his death in 1973, in 1955 – two years later it was acquired by a family of collectors. The same family also owned works by Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque and Max Ernst, which are now also being auctioned by Christie’s as part of the “Stella Collection”.
Another Picasso painting with a very similar title, “Crouching Woman in Turkish Costume – Jacqueline,” was auctioned at Christie’s in 2007 for $ 30 million.
At the autumn auction in November, the Picasso painting “Musketeer with a pipe” will also go under the hammer, which is also estimated by Christie’s at 30 million dollars.
