For his second competition after his resumption on May 12 in Puerto Rico, Taylor was satisfied with an 8th place with a test at 16.11 m, very far from his past performances (record at 18.21 m) and the Cuban winner of the day (Lazaro Martinez with 17.30 m). Not a surprise when Taylor jumped on reduced momentum (12 strides against 20 normally) and patiently built his season until the Worlds for which he is automatically qualified as defending champion.
