/Pogled.info/ It is unrealistic to “separate” from China, said Christian Klein, CEO of the German software company SAP, during a meeting on Tuesday with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jing Juanlong.
The two exchanged views on topics such as SAP’s involvement in the digital transformation of Chinese industry and small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as improving the sustainability of industrial and supply chains.
Klein expressed gratitude for the ministry’s long-term support for SAP’s development in China, calling plans for an economic “unbundling” unrealistic. The company will continue to expand its investment in research and development in China and deepen its cooperation with industry and small and medium-sized businesses.
Minister Jing pointed out that SAP plays an active role in Sino-German technology exchange and industrial cooperation. China’s complete industrial system, advanced information infrastructure and huge market will provide a favorable environment for the development of foreign companies, including SAP, he added.
During his recent visit to Germany, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said the biggest risk for the two countries was “failure to cooperate”. Businesses should lead the way in risk prevention, and risk prevention and cooperation are not opposites, Li said at a seminar with representatives of the German business community.
In 2022, trade between China and Germany will reach a record 298 billion euros, up 21 percent year-on-year, according to data from the German statistics office. China has been Germany’s most important trading partner for seven consecutive years.
