The head of the Nuevas Ideas faction, Christian Guevara, highlighted that the results of the elections demonstrated that Salvadorans decided to continue with President Nayib Bukele’s country project and the work that is carried out by the new Legislative Assembly.
For the parliamentarian, it is important to highlight that the support of the population in the last elections increased, thanks to the changes that the country is experiencing.
In this context, the legislator from the Cian Bench reiterated that “New Ideas must be clear that what must be defended are the interests of the majority and never personal agendas as the old political class did for years.”
He added that “we have to be clear, in 2021, the vote that Salvadorans gave us was by faith, it was a referendum for Nayib Bukele. “We managed to obtain the qualified majority, and that was a big blow for the opposition.”
With the electoral defeat of the opposition parties, it became evident that the people do not love them, because they are inefficient, since they could have changed the country and they did not.
