Christian Eriksen’s Story Died For 5 Minutes

Christian Eriksen said he died five minutes after collapsing in the game Denmark vs Finland. He is grateful to those who helped him recover.

The tragic incident happened to Eriksen in Euro 2020 then. He collapsed on the field during the inaugural Group B match between Denmark vs Finland.

The 29-year-old midfielder was unconscious due to a heart attack. The medical team and the Danish players responded quickly to this incident to immediately provide assistance to Eriksen.

Eriksen was then taken to hospital for treatment. The life of the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder could be saved.

However, Eriksen had to wear a pacemaker (defribillator). This made him have to break the contract with Inter Milan. The reason is, Serie A prohibits players who use defibrillators to play.

In fact, Eriksen’s condition is slowly improving. He started training on his own in Switzerland to maintain his fitness.

Eriksen stings thanked all those who supported him to recover again. Remembering how horrible it was when he was unconscious in the field.

He claimed to be dead for five minutes on the field. This great support from many parties makes Eriksen still keep the dream to play again. He is even determined to play in the 2022 World Cup with Denmark.

“It’s a terrible incident, I didn’t expect people to send flowers because I was dead for five minutes. It was incredible, but this is something that is good for everyone,” Eriksen said in an interview with DR1 quoted from Football Italia.

“People are still texting me. I thank people in person, I thank the doctors, my teammates and their families g.”

“To all the fans who have sent thousands of letters, emails and flowers, or who came to me on the road in Italy and Denmark, I thank all of them for the support I have had from all over the world helping me through this,” he explained.
