Christian Eriksen visits Inter Milan teammates

Christian Eriksen has returned to his club Inter Milan for the first time since his cardiac arrest. Seven weeks after the anxious minutes, the Dane made a detour to the training of the Italian champion.

Almost seven weeks after suffering cardiac arrest at the European Championships, the Danish soccer star Christian Eriksen visited his teammates at Inter Milan for the first time. “Eriksen is doing well, he is in excellent physical and mental condition,” wrote the Italian champion on Twitter.

“He will continue to complete his rehab program, which is controlled by his Danish doctors in Copenhagen,” it said, Inter would be continuously informed.

Inter teammates applaud Eriksen

The club released a short video that Eriksen showed while visiting the training ground. There he smiled, smacked his teammates and took them in his arms. Later there was applause for the Dane.

Whether Eriksen, who collapsed in the Danes’ first European Championship game against Finland (0-1) and had to be revived on the pitch, will continue his career at Inter is still open. The midfield star had a defibrillator used after the heart attack.

Investigations are now to find out whether Eriksen still needs the defibrillator or whether it can be removed. The game permit for the 29-year-old for Serie A depends on this. Regardless, Eriksen will have to take at least another six months off to get back in shape.
