The football world stood still when Denmark star Christian Eriksen collapsed in the European Championship match against Finland (0: 1) and had to be revived on the pitch.
All the greater was the relief after the announcement that he was stable and approachable in the hospital.
This is also the case with his club Inter Milan. According to Inter’s managing director Guiseppe Marotta (64), Eriksen reported to his teammates a few hours after the collapse.
Marotta on the Italian TV broadcaster “Sky Sport”: “He’s doing a lot better. The nice thing is that he sent a message in our internal inter-chat. He calmed the team down and said that he would be back soon. ”Take a deep breath, not just with the reigning Italian champions!
According to Marotta, Inter Milan is in close contact with the Danish doctors. Marotta did not want to speculate about how the terrible incident could have happened. But the Inter boss adds: “He was not sick with Covid, and he was not vaccinated.”
What’s next now?
The training of the Danish national team planned for Sunday has been canceled – as have all media appointments. The Danish association announced this on the morning after the Finland game. Psychological help was also offered to the Danish players.
