Christian Duchange, the former director of the Minoterie, receives the National Order of Merit

This is always a solemn and emotional moment. At the end of the morning, this Saturday, May 21, Christian Duchange, the former director of La Minoterie, a center for young public creation and artistic education, received from François Rebsamen, Mayor of Dijon, the insignia of Chevalier de National Order of Merit. A medal as a symbol aimed at rewarding the long and brilliant career of the man who created the Minoterie in 2014, an essential place for young audiences today.

A Molière in 2005

Born in Paris in 1956, Christian Duchange arrived in Burgundy and more precisely in Marsannay-la-Côte, with his parents in 1973. He became a teacher in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur then Dijon before embarking on a career as an educational adviser in Côte -d’Or in 1984.

But it was in 1990 that his career and his life changed when he decided to leave the National Education to embark on the theater. He became a director and founded his company, L’Artifice. Hard worker and brilliant creator, he will be rewarded by the profession of a Molière in 2005 for his show for young audiences, Letters of love from 0 to 10 years old. In 2006, he will once again be nominated for the Molière.

In 2011, he was chosen by the mayor of Dijon to initiate a project around a new place for young people. It will be the Minoterie which will open its doors in 2014. He will be its director until 2021. At the end of his last mandate, he chose to hand over with discretion and elegance.
