Christian Benteke is 30. His contract with the London club expired after this season, but with this agreement the Belgian striker has linked his fate to Palace for an extra two years.
Benteke has been playing for Palace since 2016. He then made the crossing from Liverpool. Palace put an amount of more than 31 million euros on the table for our compatriot.
Benteke has played 146 games for Palace so far. He scored 33 times. This season, in which he scored 10 goals, he finished in 14th place with Palace.
“It is an honor that I was able to extend my contract,” tweeted Benteke, who is preparing with Belgium for the European Championship.
“The love and support I feel from the Palace fans is unbelievable. The adventure continues. There is much more to come.”
Chairman Steve Parish praises Benteke for his part in building Crystal Palace as a stable Premier League club.
“Christian is a true pro and has more than proven that he still has the quality and appetite to perform for our club at the highest level.”
