The course of the match

First round:

The match starts with each team having difficulty breaking down each other’s defenses. Even so, Liverpool played more aggressively and continued to try to pressure Chelsea. In the 12th minute Georginio Wijnaldum tried his luck by taking off a long-range shot. However, it is still not on target.

Liverpool got a pretty good chance in the 13th minute. Mohamed Salah tries to catch the ball which goes wide and then Kepa Arrizabalaga is chased. Salah got the ball first and sent feedback to the face of the Chelsea goal which was empty. Unfortunately, Roberto Firmino failed to convert Salah’s pass into a goal because he was stuck tightly by Andreas Christensen.

In the 32nd minute Chelsea threatened the Liverpool goal. Timo Werner managed to escape and found a gap between the encirclement of the Reds players. It’s just that, kicking his left foot still slightly deviated to the left of the Liverpool goal.

Two minutes later, it was Liverpool’s turn to get the chance. Virgil van Dijk released the bait which was followed by Salah. However, when Salah sent the ball into the Chelsea penalty box, none of his teammates cheated the round skin.

The Blues worked well together in the 37th minute when N’Golo Kante gave Kai Havertz a through ball and then the ball was passed to Werner. However, Havertz was already in an off-side position which made this opportunity canceled.
