A couple of months ago, musician Chris Noah (Krists Indrishonoks) released the first song in Latvian “Cik tālu ël?” convincingly won the hearts of the listeners and topped the charts, so apparently Krists has decided to continue in this direction, also offering his latest work in Latvian.
The author of the music for the song “Awake” is Chris Noah himself. It is the second song from his upcoming album in the fall and “continues the successful musical direction, getting us in the mood for summer and inviting us to experience memorable moments,” the singer’s team says of the single.
Stylistically, Chris Noah continues to move towards the sound of the 80s with elements of modern pop music (such a modern “The Police”…). “This time I decided that I want to visualize the feeling of the song and show its true character in the most direct way – by playing the song,” says Chris Noah about the video version of “Awake”. “I called on my friends, bandmates, with the help of which we were able to demonstrate the essence of the song and in a sense also the message – everything is better if it is shared. The video was filmed in the Riga Congress House and the Allaži People’s House, whose wooden interior took us to a completely different atmosphere.” The director of the video clip is Gustavs Ķibilds.
“Awake” is a story about the environment, culture and time in which we live. We must constantly adapt, discover new things about ourselves, and learn to enjoy the process. In the song, you can hear quite personal observations about yourself and what you’ve experienced, but I think that most of the listeners will agree that both difficult and beautiful moments are better if you don’t go through them alone, but are in a team. The verses of the song are in a sense a monologue with yourself, but at the same time a conversation with someone you want to go through difficulties with,” says Chris Noah.
Continuing cooperation with the Finnish representation of the recording company “Sony Music Entertainment”, Krists gathered experts in his field in the recording of the song – long-term cooperation partner British producer Christopher Harris and mastering guru – two-time nominee of the prestigious “Grammy” award Ryan Schwab from the USA.
