Chris Metzen returns to Blizzard and World of Warcraft

Chris Metzen is a true Blizzard legend who spent 23 years at the company doing everything from songwriting to voice acting. In 2016, however, he left the developer, among other reasons performance anxiety and panic attacks, to retire and spend more time with his family, even though he has since done other things.

Now, though, it’s clear he’s making a big comeback by returning to Blizzard, first with World of Warcraft. On Twitter, Blizzard’s John Hight writes that Metzen has joined WoW’s management as a creative consultant and that his role will expand to more projects within the brand later.
