It was in 2017 that Chris Kläfford, the bearded giant from Lindesberg, won the Swedish “Idol” final in style. Two years later, he also went on in the international version of “America’s got talent” but was eliminated in the semi-finals.
Since then, Kläfford has toured and played more or less constantly. But now the music has taken its toll. In a long and personal message on Facebook, the singer explains in both English and Swedish why he is taking a break from music.
“Since my artist career started, I’ve been busy with gigs, songwriting and everything in between. I never really took the time to recover”.
In August, Kläfford writes, he caught a cold that never wanted to go away. After almost three months of fever and cough, the body finally gave up.
“I’ve never experienced this myself before, but after a decision was made to move all gigs forward a few months, a pressure was released from my chest.”
Chris Kläfford is now on sick leave due to exhaustion but writes that he expects to be back on the track again in February.
