Discover by chance
“It was very shocking,” said Hemsworth, and obviously this wasn’t what he expected when he decided to participate in the series The best ways to improve his life and thus help him survive and fight aging.
While he was supposed to be informed of the test results directly during filming, what the tests involved required the doctor to tell him the truth off camera, and to ask him whether or not he wanted to share that information across the series with the audience.
Thus, Hemsworth discovered that he has two copies of the APOE4 gene associated with Alzheimer’s disease, which gradually destroys mental function and memory, one copy from his mother and the other from his father, which means he is at risk of developing the disease. Alzheimer’s disease at a high rate of between 8 and 10 times that of a normal person.
consequentially study According to the National Institutes of Health in 2021, 1 in 4 people carry one copy of the gene, and only 2% to 3% have both genes. And in the face of the fact that he ended up with Alzheimer’s, it seems that all circumstances have come together to make him genetically predisposed to the disease.
It’s not the end of the world
“I’m afraid I don’t remember my life experience, my wife and my children” is Hemsworth’s greatest fear, according to V interview conducted by With the cast of Good Morning America.
However, fortunately, the early discovery of these genes would give him the opportunity to avoid the risk of disease by improving his lifestyle, living healthily, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep and periodically conducting some specific tests.

A positive experience nonetheless
While many may find it dangerous, sympathetic, or at least dramatizing it, Hemsworth has decided to look at it positively and even consider it a blessing, and luckily for him he could still develop a plan to manage potential risks and prevent the crisis from developing healthily.
That Hemsworth said for Vanity Fair magazine(vanity fair), emphasizing his aspiration for the future and his fear of losing it, especially after his participation in the series “Without Borders”, which he said “made him know more about the value of life, and he is not afraid to face death, but rather seek to seize opportunities and live happily, away from the pressures and worries of life and social media addiction.”
He also intends in the future – if he returns to acting – to choose only experiments that he will like to work with their creators, especially since the artist spends 4 to 5 months with these directors, and therefore there is no longer any reason to spend his time under constant pressure, instead of feeling comfortable and nirvana.
