World famous for his role as Captain America, Chris Evans is also a daily iPhone user. The actor, however, encounters some problems with his iPhone 12 Pro and explains why.
Captain America has problems with his smartphone! Actor Chris Evans, known for playing the role of Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, opened up about his setbacks with his new iPhone. In June, Chris Evans decided to scrap his iPhone 6S after years of loyal service. Far from splurging, the actor opted for an iPhone 12 Pro rather than a latest generation model.
A decision it seems somewhat regretas he explains in an interview with Collider. The story really started on the Instagram account where the actor shared a photo showing this change of smartphone. He talks about his memories with his old model, criticizing in particular its charging time, its autonomy and the dubious quality of certain shots. Nevertheless, this old model had the good idea of propose a Home button.

Note that the actor does not specify the model, but the images suggest that it is indeed a model of an iPhone 12 Pro and not a classic or mini version.
The change is indeed significant for the former Captain America, who goes from a small iPhone 6S (4.7 inches, 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm, 143 grams) to the imposing iPhone 12 Pro. To accommodate its 6.1-inch screen, this model has dimensions of 146 x 71.5 x 7.4 for a weight of 189 grams.
The iPhone SE? It’s no for Chris Evans
The arguments put forward by the actor are not new. Yet he there are lighter alternatives and in particular in the catalog of the apple brand. In addition to the “classic” or “mini” iPhones, the brand offers an iPhone SE 2022 in retro format and close to Chris Evans’ expectations. This model still has the Home button and has dimensions close to the iPhone 6S; integrating in passing an A15 Bionic chip. Informed of the existence of this model, the actor is – like us – not totally convinced of the interest of this small model.
This year again, the trend remains for large models and Apple will abandon its “mini” range. Despite the feedback from users who often regret the absence of compact models, these are struggling to sell and are becoming rare. While Apple will offer a large iPhone 14 Max instead of a small iPhone, it will probably be necessary to turn to Android to find a high-end model… and compact.
