On the evening of October 4, the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) (hereinafter referred to as the “Film Festival”) opened in Busan, South Korea. Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat won the Asian Filmmaker Award.

The opening ceremony of the film festival will be held at the Film Hall in Haeundae, Busan, from 18:00 local time. Korean actor Park Eun-bin will host the event. Korean actor Song Kang-ho, as a representative of the organizers of this film festival, received the film industry people who were invited to attend the event. Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat appeared at the opening ceremony, pushing the red carpet atmosphere to a climax.

At the opening ceremony that night, Chow Yun-fat was awarded this year’s Asian Filmmaker Award. Last year, the award went to Hong Kong actor Tony Leung. The new film “Don’t Call Me God of Gamblers” starring Chow Yun-fat, as well as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “A Better Tomorrow” will be screened in the special planning section of the film festival.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this year’s film festival will screen 209 films from 69 countries and regions on 25 screens in 4 theaters.
