Former Suncity Chairman Zhou Zhuohua Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison

Zhou Zhuohua, the former chairman of Suncity Group, nicknamed “Xi Mihua”, was arrested by the Macau judicial police on suspicion of opening a casino in China. He was involved in a total of 289 crimes including establishing a criminal group, illegally operating gambling, fraud and money laundering. Zhou Zhuohua was transported by the authorities in a prison van from Coloane Prison to the Criminal Building of the Lower Court. The case was decided today (18th) morning by the Macau Primary Court. The judge later pronounced that Zhou Zhuohua was convicted of more than 100 crimes including founding and leading a criminal group, illegally operating gambling, and fraud. He was not found guilty of aggravated money laundering. Sentenced to a total of 18 years in prison. Several other defendants were also found guilty of various crimes. Among them, Zhang Zhijian was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and the second defendant, Si Tu Zhihao, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Zhou Zhuohua was sentenced to 12 years for gang crimes, 1 year and 6 months for each of 103 crimes of illegally operating gambling in licensed places, 5 years for each of 54 crimes of considerable fraud, and 3 years for each of 3 crimes of fraud , Illegal gambling crimes were sentenced to 2 years and 6 months each, and joint competition was sentenced to a single sentence of 18 years.
