The Chorverband Berlin eV is the largest non-professional music organization in the capital and the most important forum for Berlin’s non-professional choral scene. It includes more than 300 ensembles with more than 10,000 people. These include mixed choirs, large and small, chamber choirs, vocal ensembles, men’s, women’s, children’s, youth, school, senior and assembly choirs, gospel, pop and jazz styles, choirs from various backgrounds. cultural, choirs, church choirs and Oratorio as well. such as groups of instruments and orchestras associated with choral singing.

The Berlin Choir Association is the umbrella organization of the ensembles connected to it, but it also sees itself as a point of contact for the many choral and vocal projects outside of this association. With its diverse activities, it does intensive work on the ground, at the world level and young talent and creates the conditions necessary for high performance from its own areas. It maintains collaboration with other institutions and initiatives, plays an important role in the cultural life of the city and is an essential addition to the professional art scene.

The Berlin Choir Association can realize its concerns and projects only through the great voluntary commitment of several singers, whose work is coordinated and supported from the office by its 5 employees . It is funded through membership fees and institutional funding from the Senate’s Department of Culture and Social Cohesion. It belongs to that German Choral Society which is the largest non-professional music society in the world.
